Joan John

PRESIDENT

Joan John is the President of the JunCtian Community Initiatives. Joan is committed to creating change in her Community by improving and transforming the lives of others while reuniting and building family values.  As the saying goes “it takes a village to raise a child”. Joan is focused on developing the organization with experience and integrity.

Joan has a background in Political Science, Restorative Justice, Refugee Studies, Adjudication & Mediation. Joan is also a speaker with Historica Dominion.

Murray Etherington

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Murray is an invaluable member of our team. Murray is one of our veteran team members. He has brought years of experience and skills to the forefront in helping the JCI grow and succeed. A Civil Engineer by profession and also the President of the Canadian Association of Retired Person. (CARP) Mississauga chapter.

Mitzie

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Mitzie is our Director of Operations with over 20 years of experience in Administration and Business Development. She holds a BA in Library and Information Science. Mitzie was recently recognized as a stellar employee with 15 years of service in the Department of Chemistry at the University of West Indies Mona Campus. She is trustworthy, fun and guaranteed to get the job done.

Lynn Silverton

ADVOCACY DIRECTOR

Lynn Silverton is a former Councillor for the Municipality of Grey Highlands. Her community involvement includes serving in various roles as volunteer, President and Commander (former) of the Grey Highlands Legion as well as roles with the Grey Highlands Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and numerous other community groups in Grey Highlands. She is now the current Chair for the Police Services Board in Grey Highlands.

Yogeeta Jhodhan

COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIRECTOR

In 2009, Yogeeta founded a non-profit organization, Candles of Hope, which has raised over $45,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. On top of her charity work and full-time job, Yogeeta is involved in a number of organizations in the Peel/Dufferin/Orangeville Region. Part-time Professor at the University of Guelph-Humber and a part of the faculty of Health Science. In 2012, she was one of 60,000 Canadians honored with a commemorative Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding community service and contributions, awarded both in 2018 & 2019 – International Woman’s Month in Peel Region, and also nominated for her best work in the Senior Sector by the International Peace Awards 2019.

Garnett Manning

SENIOR ADVISOR

Garnett joined  the JCI  with the vision and drive to improve upon our Non-Profit Organization, and focused on developing the organization with experience and integrity. Garnett is a former Brampton City Councillor. He is a Speechwriter, Keynote speaker, Passages of Canada speaker and an advocate for human rights.

John McCrie

LEGAL ADVISOR

Experienced, trustworthy, fun. John a Barrister and Solicitor with over 30 years of practicing Law in Canada brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the JCI.

Patricia Yeatman

COMMUNICATION ADVISOR

Patricia Yeatman an actress by profession is known for her work on Camille, B.J.Fletcher: Private Eye and Street Legal. Patricia is currently the Executive area Manager for Arbonne. Patricia is also the co-author of “Dear stress I’m leaving you” she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the JCI.

Harjeet Dhillon

MEDIA ADVISOR

Harjeet is a model, TV host of “Girls talk” and Author of Autumn Love. Harjeet is a very active advocate not only in the Asian community where she inspire and empower.  She enhance the lives of women promoting diversity and multiculturalism. She is a creative wiz and an inspiration to the community at large.
